Matt Draft #2

Time for some Rise drafting
Pack 1, Pick 1:

My Pick:

Its close between this and rage nimbus. I took the domestication due to preference, as I'd rather be an aggresive UW or UG deck than a R/x control deck
Pack 1, Pick 2:

My Pick:

This one isn't close, despite the rest of the past being insane. Not sure what the guy to my right is doing, but it didn't involve disconnecting.
Pack 1, Pick 3:

My Pick:

The 3rd pick treespeaker is a temptation, but no reason to stray from UW as Knight is very good.
Pack 1, Pick 4:

My Pick:

Took the flier over the counterspell, nothing else is considerable
Pack 1, Pick 5:

My Pick:

Pack 1, Pick 6:

My Pick:

At this point, we haven't seen any blue past our first pick, so I considered moving into BW, where scorpion is fine
Pack 1, Pick 7:

My Pick:

The Cache may have been the correct pick, but I really wanted to be blue

Pack 2, Pick 1:

There are plenty of mediocre UW cards, most notably oust and wavewatch. Our blue still wasn't that solid, and vendetta is by far the best card.
Pack 2, Pick 2:

My Pick:

Pack 2, Pick 3:

My Pick:

Vindicator vs. escort is close, since the UW level deck really wants to be as aggresive as possible, hoping for blowout draws with teacher/time of heroes. Induce despair is also considerable, but I'm for sure white, and took the most powerful card in a vacuum, which was probably wrong
Pack 2, Pick 4:

My Pick:

There's a drake and a teacher in this pack, making it pretty clear UW levels is open. We have very few levelers at this point, though, making the adept the pick
Pack 2, Pick 5:

My Pick:

Not a great 5th pick card, but always good to have a couple of these in the board
Pack 2, Pick 6:

My Pick:

This helps a lot, as we're pretty much set into UW levelers now. Maybe splashing vendetta, or if we open drana we might be black, but that's about it.

Final deck:
9 Island
9 Plains
2 Caravan Escort
2 Guard Duty
1 Skywatch Adept
1 Narcolepsy
1 Deprive
2 See Beyond
2 Knight of Cliffhaven
1 Dawnglare invoker
2 Venerated Teacher
1 Hedron Field Purists
2 Makindi Griffin
1 Kabira Vindicator
1 Linvala
1 Domestication
1 Totem-Guide Hartebeest
1 Sphinx of Magosi

The soulbound guardians, puncturing light, emerge unscathed, and eel umbra are all left on the bench in favor of more dudes. Our deck is good enough that we don't need random tricks.

Round 1: Vs. RG Beats
Game 1 We mull to 6 and he mulls to 5. We play a teacher with 3 levelers in play. He dies.
Game 2 He comes out quickly with a Treespeaker, Brimstone Mage, Kosilek's Predator, and Broodwarden. We also have a solid draw with a knight of cliffhaven into linvala into totem-beast. We are winning the race in the air for a while, but the broodwarden puts us in serious danger, and a wrap in flames is enough to kill us.
Game 3 We are forced to play a no value teacher early to trade with a basilisk, but domestication his treespeaker after he has already leveled it. He has a rage nimbus to stall for a while, but the extra mana lets us get way ahead with a vindicator and a dawnglare invoker. He has a flame slash and a wrap in flames to stall, but can't do anything about the caravan escort we play and immediately make a 5/5.
Round 2: Vs. BG ramp
Game 1: We have a knight on 2, but he has a tiny spider to brick wall us. A Narco and a guard duty take care of a leveled null champion and a arrogant bloodlord, and after he last kisses our invoker, he rips the crusher while we rip blanks.
Game 2: T1 Escort, T2 knight. He has shrivel to kill the escort, but we rip a 2nd knight and have deprive backup. We get him down to 9 after depriving a pelakka wurm, but his follow up play is drana. We didn't draw the linvala to teach him a lesson, and the #1 rare in the format rips us apart.

A dissapointing end, since I thought our deck was easily good enough to win the draft. I've now lost in the semis of 3 straight drafts to Drana, which is annoying to say the least. However, I also lost a game to random RG dudes, and probably punted multiple picks. I can't just blame Drana, as I still made a lot of mistakes, and am still much worse at this format than I would like.

Otherwise, most picks seem fine.
